Excursion of PRIMA class (on 18th June, GVM)
On 18th June the PRIMA class went on a trip to the Baroque hospital of Kuks and the Prehistoric Archeopark in Všestary. We got on the coach at 6:15 and set on the journey. The complex of buildings of Kuks is mostly famous for its beautiful Barouque statues sculptured by Matyáš Bernard Brown. First we visited the chapel where we listened to some old Baroque music – the old musical instruments were very interesting and it was a great experience. Then we went into a Baroque farmacy with ancient furniture and equipment. After that we admired the beautiful statues in the garden. After a short break we got on the coach and went to Všestary where the Prehistoric Archeopark is situated. There we could see how the prehistoric people lived, we tried to use some of their simple tools and learnt about how they used to bury the dead. We all agreed that their living conditions were difficult and uncomfortable and that our life is much easier. We returned back to Vysoké Mýto at about 4 p.m.
Excursion of SEKUNDA class to Kutná Hora (on 17th June, GVM)
On 17th June our class went to Kutná Hora. We left Vysoké Mýto by coach early in the morning. In Kutná Hora we wanted to visit the beautiful cathedral but when we got there we found out that it was closed because shooting a film. Then we went to the old silver mines. After that we had a 2-hour break for lunch and a bit of shopping in the town centre. After lunch we went on a guided tour around the town centre. At the end of our excursion we visited the mint of Vlašský Dvůr where the coins “groš” were minted. Some of us bought “a groš” as a souvenir to take home.
"We are playing with eTwinning"
In April we informed you about the eTwinning 10th anniversary and about the game „We are playing with eTwinning“. The PRIMA class (students aged 11-12) are involved in the game and they have fulfilled the third and fourth task. The third task was about e-safety and we created a simple pair game and the fourth task was to celebrate somehow the anniversary so we took a few photos and wrote a simple rhyme both in Czech and English (see below).
Cycling races (10th June, GVM)
On Wednesday 10 June a group of cyclists from our school took part in the cycling competition organized on the local slot racing. The organization was very good and our students did their best. Congratulation to Ondřej P. from TERCIE class who came the second. The races included an accompanying programme and in the competition in cycling skill Tomáš P. from PRIMA class won.
"Vybíjená" competition (4th June, GVM)
On 4th June our class took part in a vybíjená competition in the town of Choceň.Vybíjená is a ball game similar to pig-in-the-middle. The girls´ team came the third and the boys´ team was the fifth.We didn´t win but we had a good time.
